Sewing Machine Repair Guy

Looking for a fast, friendly sewing machine repair & maintenance guy that will come to your house? Check out

Main Sewing Service
"Repair All Makes and Models"
New and Used Sales

Phone 614-890-5296

195 N. Hempstead Rd.
Westerville, OH 43081

I personally had this service come to my house and Tom was great, cleaned and oiled my machine, and I was back to sewing wihtin 30 minutes.
They also offer 24 hour service which  I presume means they'll be to your house in within 24 hours, not that you can call them at 2am with a broken down machine.

The cost for a regular maintenance visit was $29.95+tax, but the price may have changed since I used their service about 9 months ago.

Cheers!

Annual Party!

Hope lots of folks can make it for our annual party this Thursday, October 18th! 7 pm at Quilt Trends.  We'll have two fabric games (you'll need to bring fabric to participate), a grand reveal of the Wonky Challenge, and tons of lovely door prizes! Plus delicious food!

So what do you need to bring? Just yourself is plenty! Come on out and join the fun!

But optional extras could include:

1. Your Wonky Paint Chip Challenge - in an anonymous bag so it can be anonymously judged...

2.Fabric for our optional fabric games -
--- As many 1 yard cuts of fabric as you’d like (we can do multiple smaller rounds or a few really large rounds). Fabric should be quilting-weight cotton with a modern design. (We are the modern quilt guild after all!)
--- If you want to play Strip Poker - - Bring as many 2 ½ “ x Width of Fabric strips as you’d like. Jelly rolls work great for this, but you can also cut your own.

3. Some food for our buffet table - email columbus.modern.quilt@gmail.com if you need a reminder of what you signed up to bring - or just whatever suits your fancy.

4. Any works in progress or completed quilts you might have to show and tell

5. A bag to take home all the fabulous door prizes you might win!

September 2012 Meeting Notes

Columbus Modern Quilt Guild – September 20
Two Peas in a Pod Meeting
Next month is our Second Anniversary Party! Here’s the scoop…
·         Bring your paint chip masterpiece! Your name should be covered and your paint chip attached somewhere on the front. Oh, and put your item in a paper bag so that everything is anonymous. More detailed rules are on the CMQG blog, so check them out. And of course we’ll have fabulous prizes for 1. Best use of paint chip colors 2. Best use of wonky 3. Viewers choice.
·         There will also be food – a signup sheet was sent around. If you didn’t get a chance to sign up, just bring something tasty (and if it matches your paint chip colors and is actually edible, you might get extra credit!). Email if you need a reminder of what you signed up to make! Columbus.Modern.Quilt@gmail.com
·         We’ll also have games. Nicole volunteered to act as coordinator. Thanks, Nicole! Keep an eye out on the guild blog so you’ll know what you need to bring to play.
·         Leadership. This year, Dana, Abbe, and Stacy have been tri-chairs. If anyone else is interested in helping; just say so! Barb has been scribe – that job can move to someone else if anyone is interested as well. Cristin is going to share some of her responsibilities with Jacqueline too.
Stacy is talking to NQA about a possible exhibit of CMQG wall hangings (or something similar) at the 2013 show so stay tuned for more info.
Kathy G. has been working on bringing guest speakers to Columbus.  More to come on this as well.
Trish Preston was our speaker. She is the owner and founder of Two Peas in a Pod. She shared a great presentation on what it really takes to start a new business in the quilt world  called “My Handmade Story”. It was really well done. She has some new patterns coming out soon and check her website  to learn about "Sip and Sews" she is hosting in the Columbus area - there's one on October 13th!
See you all next month at the P-A-R-T-Y!
