No.

You will be making two of the blocks. The blue will be the larger (7 1/4) size and the white will be the smaller four squares. You can use two different blues and different whites. Sew two of the guess together. You will have four sets of two geese, 8 total. Thank you!

Name:
Jennie H

Which Hive?
12 Month

Block Design Name
9 Patch & Economy Blocks

Color selection
For overall colors, please avoid fabrics that read brown, black, white
For the 9 patch, please go scrappy. So the random 2.5" charms would be great here.
For the Economy block,
For the inner square a 3.5" fussy cut center
For the middle and outer square, two different contrasting solid fabric.

Please name some designers or line of fabrics you like that will help us pick the right fabric for your block
Raid your scrap bin.  I would like modern fabrics.

Will you be providing fabric?
No.

Directions
Please see the tutorial.

This is similar to the look I'm going for with the exception of a fussy cut center for the economy blocks.

Pillow Cover Swap

Here are the sign ups for the Pillow Cover Swap, due at the July meeting! (7/28)

Before you sign up please read this post carefully and also read the general swap rules HERE.

This swap is for a pillow cover only. There will be no extras, including the actual pillow form. You will be required to make a pillow cover in one of the following sizes/shapes:

  • Square (12x12, 14x14 or 16x16)
  • Rectangular (12x16 or 12x18)
  • Round (12 or 14 diameter)
While I will make every effort to partner you with someone who wants the same pillow shape that you want to make, I can't guarantee that it will happen- so please make sure you make the shape/size pillow that your partner prefers! Also, please read your partner's likes/dislikes carefully and make something tailored specifically to them.

Sign ups will be open until 5/13, and partner assignments will go out between 5/14 and 5/15. This gives you over two months to create the perfect pillow for your partner!

Don't forget to share sneak peeks and/or your finished project on Instagram, under the hashtag #cbusmqswap.

I like them all. I don't think you can go wrong with any of them as long as they match my color scheme.

Will you be providing fabric?
No

Directions
- Make sure the background is a low volume light gray or off white.
- Use a navy for the center of the star.
- The points can be improvisational...they don't have to be striped...they just have to be scrappy.
- Don't use solids.
- Don't piece the final four blocks together.
- Keep the paper on the back.
