(Thanks to Barb for the fantastic notes!)

Meet Up after NQA – About 12 people from our guild and Sew to Speak attended the Meet Up at the Hyatt. Since we had a plethora of door prizes, everyone received one or two…imagine that! Here’s the link to Sew to Speak’s web site. If you’re not familiar with the shop it is f-a-b-u-l-o-u-s! Thanks again to our meeting sponsor Quilt Trends as well!

CMQG Shop Hop to Cincinnati – A splendid time was had by all. Some of the shops had goody bags and/or discounts available for the group. Next trip will probably be in September to Amish country so stay tuned for details.

QuiltCon – The mother ship, Modern Quilt Guild, is having their first ever quilt show in Austin Texas in February 21-24, 2013 (the weekend of Barb's birthday, by the way!). There are going to be some great classes. Here’s the link for more details on classes, submitting quilts and volunteer opportunities à http://themodernquiltguild.com/

Paint Chip Challenge - It’s not too late to participate! Get your paint chip and the rules if you haven’t already. Finished projects are due at our second anniversary party in October. (See me if you are interested in trading colors but sshhhh don’t tell anybody because we’re not supposed to do that.)

Alex Anderson Alert: Alex of the online Quilt Show and Simply Quilts will be at Lone Star Quilting in Marysville on August 21. See this link for more info http://www.lonestarquilting.net/

Member quilts displayed at the Columbus NQA show – Our very own AnneMarie, Cristin, and Susie all submitted quilts to the 2012 show. They shared their masterpieces and talked about how they actually went about submitting their quilts. Cristin received an Honorable Mention in the Group Quilt category (woo hoo!) and brought her awesome ribbon for all to see. If you’re a member of NQA; Cristin’s quilt is mentioned on page 30 of the NQA Quilting Quarterly magazine.
