About

Who we are?

Columbus Modern Quilters is a fun, casual group based in Columbus, OH. Everyone is welcome at our meetings. We have a wide variety of quilting styles, interests and ages represented at our group - we think there's a place for just about everybody here.

Where and When do We Meet?

Unless otherwise noted, we will meet 6:00-8:00 at

Old Worthington Library

Typically we meet on the 4th Thursday of the month. Check the side of our website for the dates of each meeting

Our meetings usually consist of a demo of a quilting skill or technique, a show and tell (feel free to bring something you've made - or something you are stuck on and want some input on), updates on local quilting events, discussion of our current projects, swaps, challenges, and lots of laughter.

Can I just drop by any meeting?

Yep! Visitors are always welcome! We hope everyone who attends our meeting would feel welcome and at home.

How do I become a member?

To become an official member, just submit a membership form with your annual $10 dues to Leigh M.  These dues go towards club expenses and prizes for swaps and challenges. Dues will also go towards materials needed for charity quilts. You are welcomed to join us at two meetings before you decide if you want to become a member.

You are also welcome to join our on-line Facebook Group, or to follow us on Instagram.

What does the CMQ do?

We have several on-going projects, including:

A Swap Team - several times a year our swap team develops a new project for us to participate in (about two per year)
Sewing Challenges – A fun opportunity to try something new and show it off!
Demos – member and special guests share quilty skills
Sew-Ins - we have quarterly sew-ins.
Charity sewing projects – we generally have something brewing
Road Trips - We occasionally go on shopping trips to exciting quilty destinations!
