Color selection
Contrasting, but coordinating colors.  2 fabrics from the same line would work. Bright colors any designer.  Background should be white or white on white.

Please name some designers or line of fabrics you like that will help us pick the right fabric for your block
Any Designer

Will you be providing fabric?
No

Directions
The directions say to cut the squares to 3 7/8 inches.  I cut my squares to 4 inches and then trimmed my half squares to 3.5 inches.  It was MUCH easier.

Ornament Swap

As quilters, we know the holidays will be here sooner than we are ready. With that in mind, it's already time to hold an Ornament Swap so you can add something new to your holiday decor and enjoy the talents of your fellow CMQers.

We're talking about an ornament - something small and hangable - that you make yourself. Maybe it's just a glass ball with fabric scraps inside. Maybe you're going to hand piece fabrics into a sphere. It can even be a no-sew project so long as you feature some fabric. Go as simple or complicated as you want.

You will have until the November meeting to make an ornament to give away. You will not be assigned a specific partner, so make something you think is cool and we'll let participants fight over it white elephant style. That being said, you must wrap your ornament for presentation at the meeting so we don't know what or whose ornament we're getting until we open it!

To participate, complete THIS FORMYou must be a dues-paying member to participate. You should be at the swap reveal meeting to give and receive an ornament, but if you can convince a friend to bring and choose an ornament for you, that's allowable. All ornaments that show up to the November meeting will go home with someone, so no late submissions!

Per the Swap Rules, do your best work. Make something you’d be proud to receive.

Part of the fun of participating in swaps is posting preview photos on social media.  We encourage you to be active in the Facebook group and/or Instagram and share photos of your items as you’re making them. Please use the hashtag #cbusmqswap when you share your photos.

Need some help getting started? We've got some inspiration for you on the CMQ Pinterest Page.
