Low volume for center block, and bright for both surrounding fabric. Make sure there is at least one matching color in each surrounding. (Just so it looks they coordinate ) no tans, browns or "dull" colors.
Please name some designers or line of fabrics you like that will help us pick the right fabric for your block
Will you be providing fabric?
Directions:"Start with 1 low volume square that is 4.25"". Trim a bit off 3 sides to make it ""un-square."" Cut 2 squares for the first surround at 4.5"". Now, cut these corner to corner, but wonky. Meaning not directly down the center. The outer fabric, cut 2 squares at 9"" and cut wonky from corner to corner.
Assemble as you would an economy block. Sew 2 opposite sides of the center to 2 fabrics of 1st layer, press, trim. Now sew the opposite sides, press. Trim with a .25"" margin above the points all the way around. This will not be a 90 degree square.
Next sew the larger wonky cut triangles to the unit. Opposite sides first, press, trim. Now the final 2 wonky triangles. Press.
Finally cut the square with right angles. Pick a point in the center of the block, measure 5 inches out to all sides. Trim along those lines. "
