Anything goes this month! Do you have a block you love making? Are you making a quilt now that you could whip up an extra block in my color pallet? Do you have a block you've always wanted to make? Any of the above are perfect! Any block, any size, the fun will be integrating it all together.
No responses yet for this question.

Color Selection
Bright colors, no red, orange or cream. Solid or patterned fabric. I love the boldness of C&S fabric. I love fussy cutting. I'm drawn to white or white on white background with bright funky/kitschy designs. I'm going for a really eclectic, and modern quilt. Below is a collage of example blocks.

2018 New Year's Resolution Challenge

Welcome to 2018! To kick off your year of sewing, our first challenge of the year is going to be a "New Year's Resolution".

Is there a quilting or sewing technique you've been meaning to try but haven't found the courage or time to do it? Sign up to participate in the Columbus Modern Quilters New Year's Resolution Challenge! CLICK HERE to do so.

Also, please review the CMQ Challenge rules HERE.

You are challenged to complete a project that executes a technique you've never done before but have been meaning to tackle. For example, challenge yourself to try curves, paper piecing, applique, free motion quilting, bags or garments for the first time.

Your project is due at the April meeting and must be a completed item. It does NOT have to be a quilt but it does have to be finished. For example you are welcome to try your new technique on a bag, one-hour basket, pot holder, etc., or if you've been dying to applique cats onto a rad vest, go for it!

You have four months to complete your item, so be sure to post your progress on Instagram. Tag your work with #cbusmqchallenge.

By participating you will be entered into a random drawing for a prize and the group will also vote on best execution of the stated technique, with the winner also getting a prize. You must be present at the April meeting to win.

Please note that in order to participate in challenges, you must be a dues-paying member of CMQ. Make sure your dues are paid up by the March meeting to participate.
