No

Directions:
"Start with 1 low volume square that is 4.25"". Trim a bit off 3 sides to make it ""un-square."" Cut 2 squares for the first surround at 4.5"". Now, cut these corner to corner,  but wonky. Meaning not directly down the center. The outer fabric, cut 2 squares at 9"" and cut wonky from corner to corner.
Assemble as you would an economy block. Sew 2 opposite sides of the center to 2 fabrics of 1st layer, press, trim. Now sew the opposite sides, press. Trim with a .25"" margin above the points all the way around. This will not be a 90 degree square.
Next sew the larger wonky cut triangles to the unit. Opposite sides first, press, trim. Now the final 2 wonky triangles. Press.
Finally cut the square with right angles.  Pick a point in the center of the block, measure 5 inches out to all sides. Trim along those lines. "

Zipper Pouch Swap

We know a lot of you are masters of the zipper pouch, and if you attended the March meeting for the zipper tutorial, you're now a zipper expert! 😉Let's put your new found skill to use by participating in the Zipper Pouch Swap.

You'll be paired with another participating Columbus Modern Quilters member and have until the May meeting to make a pouch just for them. You can make any type of pouch your heart desires, so long as it has a zipper and can hold things. Go as simple or complicated as you want. Add some patchwork or not, it's up to you!

To participate, complete THIS FORM and you will be emailed your partner's information. You must be a dues-paying member to participate. Partnerships are SECRET so you won't know who is making for you. You must be at the swap reveal meeting to exchange your item. If you are unable to attend, your item must be sent with someone else, dropped off, or mailed to the recipient up to a week after the meeting date.

Per the Swap Rules, you will not receive the item made for you until the item you made is received. Remember to use quilt shop quality fabric and do your best work. Make something you’d be proud to receive/use, taking into consideration your partner’s likes/dislikes (we'll give you their Instagram and Facebook info).

Part of the fun of participating in secret swaps is posting preview photos and trying to guess who your partner is.  We encourage you to be active in the FB group and/or IG and share photos of your items as you’re making them. Please use the hashtag #cbusmqswap when you share your photos.

Need some help getting started? We've got some inspiration for you on the CMQ Pinterest Page. You can also find the info sheet from the March's zipper tutorial HERE.
