October Meeting

Meeting October 23, 2025  6:00 PM   Old Worthington Library

 

17 members attended.  Wear your name tag each month and be entered in the drawing for a prize.  

Each member brought a dish to share and we opened the meeting with food.   The traffic was heavy  this evening and we felt that would give everybody time to show up before the meeting started.  Thanks to all who brought a dish to share!

Games – we then proceeded to a couple of games.   1.  Remember what is on the tray (all sewing related)  Leslie was the winner of this game.   2.  Leigh showed the group 5 pieces of fabric and we were supposed to guess the designer.  Katy was the winner of this game.  

Applique Challenge – Nine people participated in this challenge.  The favorite of several members this year what to reverse applique a t shirt or sweatshirt.   Contrasting fabric was placed inside the clothing and then letters were cut out to show the fabric.   All members had very nice projects.   Thanks to Bonnie who has coordinated these challenges over the last couple years.    Bonnie is stepping down for next year.   Any member interested in taking the challenge coordinator position, please let us know!

Block raffle due at the October 23 meeting.  One half is black and the other half is an improv design.  Six members participated and many made several blocks.   Katy was the winner of the blocks.  Pictures on FB. Thanks to Courtney for coordinating this block raffle.

Courtney also told us about the Bingo card challenge.   A fun easy game to reward yourself for the Quilty things you do.  More information on columbusmodernquilters.com and on Face Book.

Show and Tell - 7 members participated in show and tell.  Beautiful work everyone.  Pictures on FB.

Holiday Meeting 11/20/25 at Old Worthington Library.   Please bring a wrapped gift, purchased or handmade worth about $20.  Bring a dish to share and bingo sheets.

 

My Very Own Blanket – volunteer opportunity – Several members meet up once a month  at My Very Own Blanket offices in Westerville.   More information on this volunteer opportunity can be obtained at monthly meeting. From Michelle C

 

Next meetings:

November 20, 2025 at 6:00 pm at Old Worthington Library.  This will be our Holiday gathering.   A December gathering at Dewey’s Pizza may be in the works!
