August Meeting

Meeting August 28, 2025 6:00 PM Old Worthington Library

20 members attended. Wear your name tag each month and be entered in the drawing for a prize.

Since we had a full schedule tonight, we opened the meeting with a video presentation of Heather’s sewing studio. Heather is a very active bag maker and quilter. She has an Etsy shop, FloraJeans, and sells her bags at local festivals. Her room has 3 sewing machines and a 12’ long arm, where she quilts her designs. She also has various storage items to store all her supplies and products. Thanks Heather!

Ruth, Sharon and Carol did a demo presentation on Inktense pencils. These watercolor pencils can be purchased at Blink Art Supply or online. All three have used these pencils in various ways to enhance their quilt designs. In most cases, they first used the pencil on their quilt in an area they wanted color. Then a paintbrush could be used, after it was dipped in water or a liquid medium to alter the color. Afterwards, ironing will set the color. Ruth and Carol had made a color chart with the pencils to help find the correct color they needed when using the pencils. Ruth had set up each person with a design to paint so we could see how these pencils could be used. Thanks to you all!



Fabric swap at September 25 meeting is Kaffe Fassett. Each swap should include 4 fat quarters (18 x 21) and each FQ does not have to be the same fabric, but does have to be the same designer or type.

And we will exchange at September meeting.

Courtney told us about a block raffle due at the October 23 meeting. It is an improv half square triangle

One half is black and the other half is an improv design. More information will be posted on the website.

Courtney also told us about the Bingo card challenge. A fun easy game to reward yourself for the Quilty things you do. More information on columbusmodernquilters.com and on Face Book.

My Very Own Blanket – volunteer opportunity – Several members meet up once a month at My Very Own Blanket offices in Westerville. More information on this volunteer opportunity can be obtained at monthly meeting. From Michelle C
