Paint Chip Challenge

Deadline - September

Presentation in May (since I will be gone in June) -  Bring in paint samples for members to randomly choose from a bag.

Challenge Overview:
In the Paint Chip Challenge, participants will use color inspiration from paint samples to guide the fabric choices for their project. Each participant will randomly select two paint chip colors and create a project that reflects those colors.

Paint Chip Selection:
  • Each participant will randomly draw two paint chips at the designated guild meeting.
  • Participants must use both colors in their project.
  • Paint chips should be kept with the project and displayed at the reveal (optional but encouraged).

Color Use Guidelines:
  • Fabric colors should be inspired by the paint chips.
  • Exact color matches are not required.
  • Variations in shade, value, and print are allowed.
  • Neutrals (white, cream, gray, black, tan) may be used freely.
  • Additional accent colors may be used sparingly if desired, but the paint chip colors should remain dominant.

Project Requirements:
The project can be:
  • A mini quilt
  • A bag or tote
  • A pillow
  • Wall hanging
  • Small quilt
  • Any other sewn project

Additional Details:
  • There is no minimum size for the project.
